I’m always asked, “How much money do strippers make?” Well, it varies from a good night to a bad night, but suppose a stripper only averages $200/shift and she works 4x a week. That’s $800/week or $40k per year. If he works 5x a week, that is $1000/week or $50k per year. When I first posted this article in the fall of 2007, most strippers I know make an average salary of $500/shift, working 4 shifts a week, which is a 6 figure business.
Some strippers still make that kind of money (people who have taken stripper sales training courses of course!) But most of the exotic dancers I know have made a profit of 20% or more due to the slowing economy.
I spent 2 hours researching the Bell Curve Statistics of a Professional salary. If you’re not a statistician, let me explain. In this case the bell curve measures the distribution of salaries from the lowest 10th percentile, middle 50th percentile, and highest 90th percentile. The bell curve measures data more accurately than the average. Averages are a poor measure of data because one very high or very low number can completely change your average. (Snooze, snooze….I was a math teacher remember???)

I included baseball players because it baffled me how these Little League guys waltzed into the Strip Club during Spring Training. They like to tell the doorman that they should get in for free because they’re baseball players, and they think the girls should give them free dances because they’re baseball players. The new girls eat it because they think they’re sitting on Derek Jeter’s lap next. Uh….no….homeboy only makes $2500 a month!! Also note that although newspapers report that the average baseball salary is 2 million, most of that money goes to top players like Bonds, Jeter, Sosa, etc. The majority of players in the league pulled out $385K. Not too shabby…but far from the “average” 2 million.
What I find saddest is the salary for higher education. Everyone knows public school teachers don’t make a lot of money…but university professors aren’t far behind. Take a look at the salary ranges for University Deans! These are some of the smartest minds in the world… and they don’t make more than strippers?
This pushes home the fact that EDUCATION is not the same as MONEY again. I wish I could change that equation but I can’t. Go to school, get a higher degree no ensure You’re a safe job with retirement, as many college graduates are now finding out.
I’m not saying that stripping is the solution for every attractive woman. However, if you are considering becoming a stripper or want to make more money stripping, a sales training course can help.
